Reader,

Who is it that you want to be seen by? To be known by?

I’m not talking about being seen by the ego outside world.

I’m talking about that person close to you who just doesn’t see you.

Get you.

Understand you.

Really know you.

This could be a person living in your house with you.

Or, it could be the person you grew up with who was always too busy to take the time to get to know you.

If I’m honest, this is the reason I have a business.

Not because I want my business to be seen by this person (although that would be nice), but instead because I don’t want my kids to ever feel like they aren’t seen by me.

I want to have a connected relationship with them where they feel safe sharing themselves with me and trust that I will hold space for them to be authentic.

I want to know them for who they are.

There are times I miss the mark, but this desire for connection is why I started my business.

I wanted to teach people to slow down and listen inward to their rhythms, but really, it turns out that the real reason I want to teach others to do this is because it was missing in my own life.

I’ve longed for that sort of connection from someone in my own family of origin for probably my entire life.

Connection is what I deeply care about.

I now know that the origin of the nicknames I was given as a young child, “Temper Tilly” and “Fisto,” were likely because there was this fire inside me wanting that connection.

To have those in between moments of connection, instead of only being present for the performances.

Anger shows us what we deeply care about.

Anger shows us the deepest longings of our heart.

Cultivating Health Harmony and Happiness means we also have to access the power of anger, because anger is what changes things.

When we quiet anger,

Push it down,

Ignore it,

Forgive and move on without letting the body and mind fully experience anger in pursuit of constant calm,

We open the door for it to get loud and to come out sideways.

As dis-ease.

As explosions that hurt others.

As resentment towards those we once were connected to.

Anger is a trailhead to living from the heart.

I’m not talking about narcissistic/abusive/controlling rage, I’m talking about Sacred Rage.

The rage that shows us our truth and gives rise to speaking that truth into existence.

What if when anger shows up, you stayed with it?

You acknowledged it belonged.

You noticed it as a wise expression showing you your heart’s desires.

Letting you find, underneath the fire, what you’ve been longing for all along.

Allowing you to finally see what you’ve actually been fighting for.

Your anger has a place.

It belongs.

Not to harm, but to serve.

And this Sacred Fire… Sacred Rage, is the theme of the Solstice Celebration of Rhythms Retreat coming up on Saturday, June 20.

Anger and passion are the same energy – one protects, one nourishes – but if you haven’t ever been taught or given the space to access and embody anger, then it can feel like an elusive or scary thing.

Embodiment practices are the way to change that relationship.

That is what we’ll be doing at Summer Fire: Kindling & Connecting with Your Sacred Rage.

Even if I can’t change the connection I long for within my family of origin, I can do my best to break the generational pattern and be different with my own children.

Fire is transformational. It burns what no longer serves and invites new deeper connections to ignite.

By accessing my sacred rage, I am burning old patterns and calling in and consecrating deeper connections within my lineage.

Sacred rage is giving my children a new birthright.🔥

Cheers,
