Hey Reader, This was me the other night… Does this ever sound familiar? I have some time while waiting for dinner to be finished cooking so I sit down to finish a piece of content I’ve been writing. In the background one kid is vacuuming, one kid is asking me how to spell things, another kid is trying to show me how to draw something. My lower jaw is uncomfortable (this might be any other body discomfort for you) because a new retainer is moving my teeth. My hearing sense is overstimulated. I’m tired. I’m hungry. My husband is doing his own thing to prepare for an interview. It feels like everyone is requiring my attention when it’s really only the two girls, myself, and the dinner that I’ve put together but is still not done yet! It’s the perfect storm for a breakdown. I’m overloaded. But instead of lashing out, I made a different choice. I chose to tell my family I was overstimulated and needed space. And I decided to write about it to process so that I could move forward, rather than remain stuck. Was this the content I had intended to write or share? Nope. But perhaps this is better. It’s raw and vulnerable and you need to know that this sort of thing is a very real problem for naturally caffeinated people. We get stimulated or overstimulated by a bunch of small things that have either happened over time or in an instant (but often there’s also an underlying larger stress happening). If this is you, this stimulation causes you to lash out at those closest to you instead of tuning into your center and exploring what the real issue is. The real issue for me? The panic of not getting a piece of content written that had been lingering in my mind and that I “needed” to get done because of the outside world’s standards to stay present on social media and use the algorithm. This is NOT the way for genuine, heart-felt, authentic content to be birthed. The kind of content that draws people in. But it’s the story that, as a creator, we sometimes get stuck in. (I’m guessing you also have your own consistent places you get stuck in.) Instead, the way forward is by slowing down. By tuning in. Noticing the signals of your body. Naming emotions and communicating them. This is the way to your center. And it’s also what I help fiery spirits like you do. In my Res{e}t to Reconnect program, you receive daily nudges and 1:1 coaching to practice coming back to center regularly so that when the storms of life try to rock you, you too can remain centered rather than being controlled by outside stimulation. You’ll no longer feel like you’re your own biggest problem; instead you’ll consistently show up feeling like your “ducks are in a row.” You’ll stop lashing out or criticizing your family and instead cultivate a deeper sense of connection with both them and yourself. Helping you cultivate deep inner peace when life feels like a tornado around you, and while still honoring your fiery spirit is my zone of genius, and Reset to Reconnect is my signature program in which I help you do just that. So if you’re done overreacting to the small things that pile up in life and ready to step into your full capacity to own your thoughts and actions and feel centered more often instead, just reply back to this email and ask about my Reset to Reconnect program and we’ll book a chat. I’m excited to help you claim this truth in your own life.😘 Cheers, Cathy |
