My kids built this killer snow castle on Tuesday and yesterday were outside in shorts and t-shirts soaking up the sun.
Enter: Spring.
Between Saturday and Monday, we’re going to have a 57° swing back to cool again in the lows for the day.
That’s just standard if you live in Iowa.
Especially in transitional seasons (spring and fall).
Being able to swing between temperatures like this is good training for your nervous system. It’s the same thing we do in somatic practices to integrate stressful times in life so that the bodymind doesn’t store them as trauma.
And if it does happen to store them as trauma, the somatic practices help them integrate into your awareness so they aren’t quite so painful.
So they don’t cause massive swings like this in your mood and emotions and negatively impact your relationships.
But for those times when your emotions do get the better of you and you start to feel a bit unbalanced, I’ve got you covered.
Here’s a meditation I’ve created to foster stability, strength, and peace, even when life feels chaotic around you.
It’s one of my favorite practices to take new clients through, especially because it involves of the most basic and fundamental yoga postures you can do.
And it can be done in the grocery store line.
So, take a listen.
And happy spring!
I’ll be sharing more in the coming months about the rhythm of spring and how you can remain grounded and steady even in the midst of all the busyness of this season💚.
But for now, grab this meditation and come back to it often this season here.
Cheers to you and thanks for being here, my friend.
