Hey there Reader,

I started a Blessings Journal 12 years ago as a way to honor one of my grandmas who had recently passed away and as a way to help me become a more positive person. It has certainly allowed me to change my perspective on many things in life.

Although I’m not as consistent about it as I have been in the past 🙄 (remember everything is cyclical), I still keep this journal and have a tendency to pull it out and start using it again when I need an infusion of positivity or joy in my life. So basically, when I need an attitude adjustment.

Well, I recently pulled it out to start writing in it again and was quickly reminded of all the things, be they joys or challenges that I have encountered over the past 12 years. And just like that, I find the trailheads that I am still working on exploring changing or shifting in my life as well as the simple blessings I have experienced through fertility struggles to the different phases of my three kids, and I am immediately reminded how this one quick action each day (or week, or month…) is such a beautiful practice for inserting intentionality into your life.

It’s putting action into the word “blessed” that seems to be gracing everything from wall hangings to coffee mugs these days. And it’s a practice that is directly related to the amount of joy you experience in life. 😄

This isn’t a journal that takes any skill or talent in writing (not that I believe any journaling does, because it absolutely doesn’t, but I do know how cumbersome just writing in a notebook can feel to people), but one that can be as simple or as complex as you choose.

I tell you my simple way(s) of putting the practice of gratitude into action in this week’s episode and why you would even want to invite a gratitude practice into you life.

If you’ve found yourself feeling overwhelmed with life or feeling on the verge of giving up in some areas, perhaps a gratitude practice is a little thing that can help. And it doesn’t even have to take longer than 2 minutes a day.

Cheers,

Cathy
