Hey Reader,
I don’t know about you, but this time of year I get what I like to call an “itchy” feeling. For me, it’s feels like a a heightened sense of vibration or vibrational energy in me that’s bouncing up and down really quickly and lands in my chest and the upper part of my belly.
It’s really an anxious feeling that feels jumpy inside me and kinda makes my skin feel itchy on an unconscious level. Nervousness mixed in with anxiousness.
It’s not the most comfortable, and I know there are times or rhythms when I just tend towards experiencing this feeling. Like…
📆At the end of my menstrual cycle
📆During a waning moon
📆When I’m preparing for something new or unfamiliar like a presentation or a class I haven’t taught in a while
📆When I’m anticipating a transition or trip with the kids
📆Or when I’m preparing for an event and am worried about forgetting something.
Ahem, Christmas.
And kids getting out of school for 2 full weeks, thus my work basically shutting down.
And the Winter Solstice Celebration of Rhythms Candlelight Yoga.
And marketing the Winter session of classes at the studio.
And
and
and…
You know the drill, the list goes on. But this time of year it seems the feeling is exceptionally easy to come by. And you know what, it’s OK if you’re feeling that way. It’s natural because we are in this season of preparation and planning and getting ready for all the goodness the holidays bring.
It’s just that sometimes our bodies forget that we’ve been through this before and come out on the other side safely. So we have to remind it that it is seen, heard and is worth taking care of.
Because of the heightened stress and pressure, this is the time to really tune into nurturing your nervous system.
Enter: your priority practices. 🥰
What are those things that help you feel grounded, safe, connected and at ease?
I’m sure you probably have a long list kinda like I do, but are you remembering to pay attention to that list and do the things?
This is your nudge. Your reminder to just
🔲Step onto your yoga mat
🔲Set a timer for 5 minutes and breathe
🔲Follow an uncomfortable sensation in your body when you feel an emotion to understand what it means
🔲Connect and laugh with others
🔲Journal
🔲Pray and spend time listening for God’s voice
🔲Cozy up with a cup of tea and just be.
You don’t have to do them all, choose just one or two things that will pour back into yourself so you don’t feel that itchy feeling so much right now either.
We can get to the bottom of finding freedom from that feeling forever when you’re ready. But for now, just know that I’m here, feeling a bit of the same feelings and cheering you on so you also make your priority time a priority this season.
XOXO,
Cathy
P.S. Oh yeah, and there are only a few more spots open in the Winter Solstice Candlelight Yoga class I mentioned, so if you want in on it, you’d better grab your spot now before they’re gone😘.
