Reader, you don’t have to change who you are to reset.

Years ago, when I was just beginning to explore yoga beyond the physical poses, I used to think,

“I wish I were as calm and woo-woo as the people who do yoga regularly.”

I just wanted to know as much as some of the other people in the spiritual world of yoga & mindfulness about the softer mystical side of being.

But truthfully? I wasn’t.

I was the list-making, driven, active type. I liked movement and productivity. I felt safest in my box of structure, grit and sweat.

The mystical, quiet side of yoga felt… far away. Like something reserved for people who already belonged to that world.

But the more I let go of the narrative that that type of person wasn’t me and trusted God’s timing, the more I opened the door for the possibility that I could be that type of person also. I eventually made the leap to invest in a big way in myself through yoga teacher training, and it opened my eyes to the realization that I could be BOTH.

I didn’t have to fit into someone else’s box or idea of what I thought a yoga person needed to be like, I just had to be my own authentic self AND invite a new layer of myself to unfold.

I could still be fiery, athletic, organized, and active and be someone who pauses.

Someone who breathes deeply and fully.

Someone who explores my inner world as much as my outer world.

Someone who softens.

Reader, here’s the lowdown…

You don’t have to be “spiritual.”
You don’t have to be bendy, peaceful, woo-woo, or wild.
You don’t have to have the right crystals or say the perfect mantra.

You just have to be someone willing to press pause.

To explore who you are beneath the layers of busyness, roles, and obligations.

The Summer Solstice Rhythms Retreat isn’t about escaping your life (well, maybe just a little bit for a short while😉)… instead, it’s about coming home to yourself. Remembering who’s underneath all those layers of years of living for others and choosing to take a step towards living from your divinely-aligned center.

It’s a space where you don’t have to perform or prove anything.

You just have to show up… as yourself.

Whether you think you belong in spaces like this or not—you do.

You don’t have to change overnight.
But by taking small steps often—like saying yes to one evening just for you—you’ll begin to align with the version of you who knows how to slow down AND be OK with slowing down.

The one who is strong and soft.
Who has grit and grace.
Grounded and expansive.
Fully yourself.

This is your time. Your time for change. 💚🙏

Cheers,

I answer this and more in this episode of Our Internal World.

I had the honor of being asked to be on this amazing podcast, and am truly grateful for the afternoon of chatting with Nicolas Lirio.
