Pain? Migraines? I got you covered, Reader.

As I was walking by some vendor booths at the state fair last week, one of the women in one of those booths called out to me as I walked by…

Woman: Do you have pain?
Me: No
Woman: What about migraines, do you have migraines?
Me: Nope, I feel good.

And I kept walking.

I heard her continually asking close to the same questions to the other passersby.

Now I didn’t stop and listen to her spiel about what “magic” cream she was selling that could rid me of any pain (although I did walk by later and snag some pics of the product so I could see for myself what she wanted to pitch me on and have a picture to share with you all🙊), but it made me think about what my state fair sales pitch might be

Shockingly, I think it might sound about the same, although I can’t promise results in 60 seconds.

Instead, yoga, breath work, meditation, life coaching… they all take time.

They remind us that not everything in life is about instant gratification.

In fact, I feel safe to say that most good and lasting things in life actually take time instead of being instantaneous…

⏳Cultivating nourishing life-giving food that grows on plants or from animals
⏳Growing a baby into a child and then into an adult
⏳The grandeur of nature that takes your breath away
⏳That perfectly golden brown toasted marshmallow on a hot fire
⏳Wisdom that comes from life experience
⏳Patience that happens only because we have to wait.

They all take time. And mental health and wellbeing practices are no different in creating change

That pain, those migraines?

They’re a reflection of something deeper happening within you – remember, your mind and body are ONE, not separate, so what’s happening in one is a direct reflection of the other.

And the way to ease them?

It’s actually to start mindfully moving, to breathe intentionally and to explore what’s going on under the surface of those discomforts.

Can you sell that at the fair?

Not in a bottle with a neat little label, that’s for sure.

But I bet a lot of the people who were checking out that booth could also use the practices I teach. So until I get on the state fair circuit, I’ll stick with this email list (and social media).

And I’ll shout it here as loud as I can (or at least repeat myself in some way or another as many times as I can😉).

I offer regular classes weekly that can combat the pain you’re feeling – be it physical or emotional. Reconnecting with yourself is actually the way to invite the discomfort you have to be seen and heard so that it can quiet down.

Join us. You can find all the class info below. And if you’re intimidated to start, send me a message. That’s normal, and I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

Cheers,
Cathy

Podcast Episode: Health Harmony and Happiness with Cathy

#61: The Truth Behind Your Aches and Pains

Your mind and body are one, and not separate as we have been led to believe. What happens in one is a direct reflection of the other. And when it comes to dis-ease or discomfort in your physical body it’s likely that the discomfort is trying to get you to pay attention to something in your mental or emotional awareness as well.

In today’s episode, I share why discomforts or aches and pains are simply messengers your body uses to communicate with you. I also share how to begin to get in touch with what those messages are so that you can begin to free yourself from the aches and pains that you might be living with or could happen upon at any time in your life.

Discomfort is stuck energy; stuck energy can’t flow, instead it builds up and causes dis-ease.
