#10: Choosing a VBAC

Sep 26, 2019 | Parenting, Podcast

The option to have a Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC) is rarely given to mamas these days, so I’m sharing my my experience in choosing to try for a VBA2C (Vaginal Birth After 2 Cesareans), and how I went about helping my physical and mental bodies to make it happen.  Some methods I used to prepare for a Trial of Labor After Cesarean (TOLAC) are not necessarily “normal,” but had a profound effect on not only my mindset in approaching this method of delivery but the outcome of my labor and delivery.

I want mamas out there to know that they have may have another choice in how they birth future babies if they’ve had a C-section that wasn’t really what they went into labor and delivery expecting.  I was told by a Dr. that it wasn’t possible for me to have a vaginal delivery, but I chose not believe him.

It took me doing some deep work on myself to release old beliefs and prepare my mind, but the time I put into doing that work paid off.  I was able to experience something so beautiful, intense and primal that it had the ability to change my perception of life in just 11 minutes.  Something that often takes years to do.

My outlook is different, and I feel a sense of power and strength that I didn’t know I had.  And my faith and trust in Jesus is just a bit greater. But isn’t that why He takes us to our limits?? I believe it is. Growth.
