#19: Cultivating Gratitude

Nov 28, 2019 | Adamantine Yoga, Mindset, Podcast

Gratitude is a state of mind. It’s all about perspective and how we choose to look at life. Gratitude also helps us realize that everything in life is connected, much like yoga helps us to realize that.

Gratitude is one of the four Adamantine® Yoga tenets and is the one that brings all of the others together and helps us realize that cultivating this mindset happens when we can practice honoring our highest good, being non-violent towards ourselves and others and surrender to the natural flow of life.

The affirmation that is used in Adamantine® Yoga when considering this quality is:

“I am grateful for all that I am and all that I receive.”

Good and Bad. Joys and Challenges. It’s all a part of life and serves a purpose on your journey to get you to this moment. With this mindset, it’s much more likely that you maintain a present-moment awareness.

We can either fight it and try to swim upstream or we can move with the flow and also practice acceptance and gratitude. Gratitude for what the present moment is teaching us.

It’s is a choice to be grateful or look at life from a negative perspective

Yes, sometimes it takes bad, yucky things to happen to be able to practice gratitude, but it’s always available. And we are especially reminded of it this time of year, but we often forget to pause and reflect and take note of what we have to be grateful for in life.

Breath.

Loved ones

Health

Freedom

Being turned down for a promotion

Loss

Rainy days

God’s unique and perfect love and forgiveness.

Creating a grateful mindset honors the Adamantine® Yoga tenet of Gratitude and is especially prevalent this time of year. But it’s so rewarding to adopt this perspective to live by. Try these 5 simple ways you can make gratitude a daily practice all year long.

5 Easy Ways you can recognize gratitude in your life on the daily:

  1. Gratitude or Blessings journal
  2. Gratitude Mantra + Breath
  3. Blessing Bowl—Passing gratitudes on to others
  4. Bless Everything
  5. Yoga postures to open heart
