Hey there Reader!
You know when you have so much stuff floating around in your brain that it feels like if one more thing has to go into your brain you might just experience overload and burnout or shut down?
I sure do. 🫠
Especially this time of year when we have shifted into action mode. With the beginning of Spring brings the energy that we tend to feel and believe we can do all things…and because we all feel this shift in energy, schedules start to fill up the demands on our time can easily slip into that state of feeling like your time is not your own.
I want to remind you that it most certainly is your own, even if you have littles at home (I know this all to well, as I often fall into that mindset with a 3 y.o. at home). It’s all about perception and expectations.
One of the ways we can shift both of those is to organize our thoughts. And one of the best ways I know to do that is by journaling–both stream-of-consciousness and by making lists. Both of which get things out of your brain and free up precious real estate in that beautiful mind of yours to focus on the things that are truly essential to remaining present in your life so that you don’t feel the overwhelm creep in.
List-making is essential if you want to feel like you’re getting things done in life, but there’s one thing that may be missing from your list that can actually make life easier for you.
And it’s what I’m sharing with you in today’s podcast episode.
I also share the technique I use when doing a “brain dump” so that I know I am keeping what’s essential and eliminating what isn’t.
After all, if your mind feels like it’s swimming and nothing has any order to it, you most certainly will feel like you’re always in a state of chaos.
But, if you can create a system of order that still allows you to flow and adapt, then you’ll have the tools to manage your time, energy and focus when you are on the verge of overwhelm or burnout.
And that’s exactly what I do with my clients, help them learn to use their own personal rhythms to know what action to take and when–whether it’s acting on something or honoring the rhythm of downtime without guilt.
If you’re interested in learning more about how I can help you do just that, reply back to this email and let me know what your biggest challenge with flowing with life is for you right now. I’d love to help you discover where things might be able to shift so that you are flowing with life instead of against it.
Cheers,
Cathy
