👋Welcome to a new layout! I’m trying out a new format for this newsletter, so look forward to watching as it evolves. Thanks for being here!
Hey there, Reader,
When I started realizing that I needed to change the way I was living, I needed a container to give me permission to consciously step away from the way I had been doing things and live differently.
I was in hustle mode all the time and life just wasn’t working for me the way I had hoped or expected it would.
I wasn’t getting pregnant like I desperately wanted, and in the stress of that along with trying to prove myself in my career, I was pushing away the people who mattered most to me in life, namely my husband.
I knew when I took time to reconnect with myself in nature, in my journal, or in community with other like-minded souls, I felt my best. Yet so often when I did go out in nature, I was on a mission – to run, work in the garden because otherwise the weeds would get away from me, or to go along with my husband while he prepared for his downtime – hunting. It wasn’t exactly me exploring my inner world.
With journaling, sometimes I just didn’t want to take the time to write, likely because I didn’t want to feel the pain of what it might reveal.
And it wasn’t very often that I gathered with like-minded souls – I was new to the area and had recently moved away from all of my closest friends. Although I had some lovely new friends, the pressure and stress I was putting on myself to become pregnant wasn’t serving to enrich those connections.
My body was ultimately stressed, and I wasn’t helping it by continuing to ignore it with outward tasks that kept my mind distracted from realizing how the stress was affecting me.
I needed permission to relax and take my mind off the things that were causing me such suffering.
And that’s what my yoga did for me. It gave me a container to let my mind wander into something helpful and uplifting rather than dwelling on the lack and fear. 💚
Fast forward to starting my business… I knew I wanted to be able to offer the same sort of container for other people who also naturally gravitate towards the hustle way of living – seeking outward sources to avoid an inward problem.
And from that desire, the idea for Rhythms Retreats emerged.
I wanted to invite permission for short resets to caffeinated (naturally or artificially) people, who secretly really just want to slow down and rest without feeling guilty.
The Celebration of Rhythms Retreats – held four times a year – continue to evolve, yet offer this little getaway from the pressure and rush of everyday life.
Perhaps you can relate.
Perhaps you’re also someone who operates at 100 miles an hour most days – checking the boxes, showing up for everyone else, pouring your energy into a million directions – yet still feeling like something’s missing.
Perhaps your mind races, even when your body’s exhausted.
Perhaps you crave a break, but you’re not even sure what slowing down would look like—or whether you’d let yourself enjoy it.
Or if you did slow down, what you would even do (not that you need to do anything, my dear soul, but I know… the mind doesn’t often let you be OK with doing nothing).
Deep down, you want calm without completely stopping.
You want to feel grounded and energized.
You want to reconnect with what actually matters to you—your values, your interests, your relationships.
That’s why I created the Celebration of Rhythms Retreats—and why the upcoming
Summer Solstice Celebration of Rhythms Retreat might be exactly what you’re needing right now.
It’s not about abandoning your drive or dimming your light.
It’s about honoring both your natural energy and your need for rest, so you can move forward with more intention, focus, and joy.
Because you can live a vibrant, connected life that nourishes you from the inside out.
And it starts with choosing to pause, reflect, and celebrate your own rhythm and the rhythms around you… especially during the fullness of summer.
If you’re ready to learn more or sign up, use the button below to do just that. 🙏💚
Cheers,
☀️May God’s goodness and light be with me today and always; and may others experience this goodness and light through me.
