HeyReader,

Happy holidays! I know, this is hitting you right in the middle of Christmas and New Year’s and there’s still a lot of chaos probably going on around you, especially if you have kids at home. If your house is like my house, schedules are off, there’s no time to yourself and there are more than enough opportunities to refine your reffing skills with disagreements on who got hit with the burrito first (Throw Throw Burrito anyone??? 😂).

So I first want to remind you to pause and, just breathe. Take a deep breath in through your nose, pause at the top of the breath, then open your mouth wide, stick out your tongue, and audibly exhale everything out through your mouth.

You’ve got this, you’re a warrior.

When you’re a warrior, you believe you can do hard things physically, but perhaps shy away from the things that are tough emotionally.

You can usually muster up the mental toughness to get through physically taxing things, but when it comes to getting real with your emotional insecurities, you’d rather watch paint dry (because you know you absolutely could if you really had to, you’re just that tough…on second thought, maybe you couldn’t if there were other things on your to-do list😉).

And because you’re so tough, it can be real easy to want to push through and keep going when your body communicating with aches and pains. Or even to try to think your way out what the discomfort–trying to come up with what could have possibly caused the discomfort or how to work around it or take care of it in some other physical way to find relief.

The truth is, sensation is the language of the body.

And when your body is communicating with you, it’s time to listen up. Perhaps the most warrior-like thing you could do is actually the thing that might be the emotionally hardest to do…like slow down or even examine what beliefs could be behind the pain or discomfort.

In the end, it’s the association of your body with the mental picture it’s painting that is really going to heal the discomfort. And it’s what this week’s episode of Health Harmony and Happiness with Cathy is all about.

I also share

-> How this relates to your period if you’re a woman

-> What tool everyone has access to that helps you tune into your the language of your body

It’s a beautiful thing to consider yourself a warrior, a bad-ass, or however else you want to phrase it; and when you do, you also need to know that it’s not permission to ignore all the things your body is trying to tell you through sensation.

So along with that breath I encouraged you to take at the beginning of this email, maybe take beat to also ask that little discomfort in your body what it needs most right now.

And then listen to the first, subconscious response that comes to mind…it’s the one that will lead you to what you really need to do to nurture or care for that part of you. And if it’s something you need help with, you know how to get a hold of me…this is the sort of thing I love to help people discover.

Until 2023…

Helping you find the rhythms in all you do.

Cheers,

Cathy
