Hey Reader,

I know how tempting it is when you are an intense person, or someone who goes 100 mph, 💯% of the time to just want to push a little harder, to do a little bit more, to lift just a bit more because you’ve done so in the past.

But I’m here to tell you that’s not always what your body, better yet nervous system, needs.

It can be super hard to slow down. You’ve even programmed yourself to believe that that’s just the way you’re wired. Friend, let me tell you, there is a different way to get things done.

Your body literally cannot go at the same speed and intensity all. The. Time.

Sooner or later something has to give.

You are a beautifully and wonderfully made human.

A human who was actually made to live and thrive in rhythms, just like nature.

How do I know this?

Because that was once me.

I thought if I just had another hour at my computer.

If I just added a little more resistance to the bike.

If I just did a few more intervals.

If I just stayed up a little later…

Well, guess what.

All that got me was more intensity and still not where I wanted to be.

It left me tired, depleted, grumpy and disconnected from the people who mattered most to me.

And that is the opposite of health, harmony and happiness.

It wasn’t until I started letting go.

Letting go of trying so hard. Of pushing myself beyond my edge.

And started slowing down and inviting softness into my life that I started to really see glimpses of and understand what health, harmony and happiness really could be for me.

It meant connection… with myself and my family.

It meant seeing the world in the present moment instead of feeling bad about the past or worrying so much about the future.

It meant learning that there are times when I may still have that drive and need to use those intense qualities to get shit done, but that there would also be times when it’s OK for me to set that intensity down for a bit and come back to my natural rhythms.

And that, my friends, is what health, harmony and happiness is all about.

It’s in finding that balance.

Giving yourself permission to let the soft inner parts be seen and heard, while being the container that keeps moving you forward.

Ready to find your balance?

Start by allowing yourself to slow down and embrace your natural rhythms (spoiler alert: they don’t really go at the same speed all the time😉). You’ll indeed discover inner peace when you do.

Take the first step today. Give yourself permission to let go of just one thing, slow down, and invite softness into your life. Then watch the ✨magic✨ happen.

💚

Cheers,

Cathy
