Easeful. Life is not meant to be easeful all of the time, but instead it’s meant to take us into periods of stress and recovery. The problem is, Reader, so much of the time we live only IN and FOR the stress, forgetting to come back down and ground. We’re under the shadow of a new moon this week, and a Taurus moon at that, which means it’s a beautiful time to remember to ground. That’s exactly what I led my class through yesterday morning. I woke up in the middle of the night the other night feeling anxious and like I couldn’t get enough air in (unusual for me in the middle of the night… and I’m attributing it to wearing both my retainers AND mouth tape — perhaps a little to much constriction going on in my mouth😄). Because of that, I knew I needed the grounding New Moon Practice I wrote years ago as part of the Energetic Rhythms Yoga practices I weave into my classes.
So the practice I taught in class yesterday morning at 9 AM was the same practice I did for myself on my mat at 5:30 AM. I think it is safe to say that everyone in class this morning at 9:00 left feeling more grounded and easeful, even if they are in the midst of stressful times.
This is living from a socially engaged state instead of a stimulated state. And it IS possible even when in the midst of stressful seasons.
You see it’s not in NOT feeling our emotions and stresses by ignoring, washing over, or numbing them, but instead, it’s in experiencing them fully in the aliveness of all that we are… and then being able to come back down, ground, and integrate. This is what a do in class both at the studio and in my 30-minute virtual breath work class, The Weekly Breath Reset. Practice recognizing the stress, allow it, then return to center. Over, And over, And over Again. It’s not about getting it right all the time, but instead practicing.
So when the easeful times happen, we can more fully find joy in them and live from the best version of ourselves. So when will you be joining us? Our next class is Saturday morning, and I’d love to see you there💚🙏🧘♀️.
Cheers,
Cathy
☀️May God’s goodness and light be with me today and always; and may others experience this goodness and light through me.
