Hey Reader,

So, I’ve obviously been talking a LOT about breath lately. But how in the world does that relate to you rhythms?

If you want to know the whole story, check it out in this week’s podcast episode. I talk all about:

  1. Why breathwork most certainly is related to your energetic rhythms
  2. How breathwork is similar to tracking your rhythms and the rhythms around you
  3. How breathwork can be a tool to use to your advantage during your cycle.

But in the meantime, I’ll just share that your breath is, in fact, one of the rhythms of your body. To be exact, it’s one of the ultradian rhythms of your body. Which means it’s just a smaller rhythm that takes place in your body, much like blinking, which side nostril the air comes in and goes out, your appetite, focus, energy, body temperature, and circulation, to name a few.

Ultradian rhythms are your body’s micro-rhythms that happen naturally throughout the day, lasting less than 24 hours and greater than 1 hour.

And this matters to you because it’s just another way you can connect with the rhythms in and around you.

Fun fact, your nose is filled with contractlie tissue that is constantly opening and closing throughout the day in response to our emotional states, menstrual cycle and possibly even the sun and moon.

Some days your right nostril wakes up and is the dominant one, others it’s your left, likely even dependent on the new and full moon (which is no surprise around here since we know the moon influences the waters of this earth and our bodies are around 60% water😉), when the energetic pull is strongest on the earth. This also fluctuates throughout the day…it’s been said it’s similar to the opening and closing of a flower.

The rhythms of your nose, or your nasal cycles, actually influence and are connected to so much within your body, including erectile dysfunction, hormones and chemicals that lower blood pressure and ease digestion and even how your nose responds to the phases of your menstrual cycle.

So, armed with all that new knowledge of how powerful your nose is…why wouldn’t you want to do something to support it and take care of it as best you can. And that starts with paying attention to your breath.

I have a weekly virtual 30-minute breathwork class happening right now, that you can still get in on. Each session is recorded and you’re sent a link to listen to it at your convenience if you can’t make it at the time class is held. And the best part is, it’s only $35. Check it out and register here.

I hope you’ll consider joining. Intentional breathwork is indeed the thing that helps take working with your breath to life-changing levels.

Cheers,

Cathy
