Hey Reader,
I recently learned this new concept that helped me re-frame the way I think of and relate to my action-taking, “Type-A”, hard-working, assertive, and not necessarily “girly” nature, which quite honestly, I’ve had a love-hate relationship with my in life until recent years.
At times when I was younger, I had even thought there was something wrong with me because I didn’t want to shrink my opinions away or keep them inside like some of my friends. Then the “should’s” would creep in because I was doing things differently, going for what I wanted in life and even had a hard time slowing down to do nothing.
If you’re like me, that last one there is a common thing for you as well I would guess, right?
You might even resonate with that love-hate relationship part about your own tendencies too.
Over the years I learned that many of these qualities were more masculine in nature than feminine, which makes sense because I really wasn’t ever a girly-girl. Yet even though, I still liked doing my hair and makeup and dressing up and wearing jewelry and buying all the purses, I had a big energy about me that was definitely more assertive in nature than receptive.
So naturally when I started exploring the moon’s energy and aligning with my innate rhythms more, part of me felt this guilt or inconsistency around the fact that I wasn’t embodying lunar or feminine qualities all the time.
Like I still didn’t have enough compassion in me because I still liked the action-taking, assertive side of me.
Like I needed to work harder to actually soften who I was…
And although there is still work that needs to be done on myself, this one concept of Solar Feminine Energy changed my outlook on everything.
It gave me permission to accept and allow the stronger, more masculine (or Solar Feminine) qualities within me and continue to nurture the Lunar Feminine qualities. But that I didn’t have to be all softness and no hardness.
And honestly, if you’re a man and tend to have more feminine tendencies and have questioned them, this too is giving you permission to accept and allow them. Look at them as the Lunar Masculine Energy within you.
The good news is, we all have both Lunar and Solar qualities and need both in order to be in our most balanced selves. If there is too much lunar or too much solar, or if these qualities are wounded in some way, you may find yourself to be aggressive, domineering, over-competitive, authoritative or wanting to avoid situations.
Or in contrast, you may find yourself feeling lethargic, not taking action, being indecisive, over-emotional or over-sensitive.
I share more of what these wounded and healed energies look like in this week’s episode of Health Harmony and Happiness with Cathy.

Phew, that’s a lot to take in; thanks for sticking with me this far!
My point is both women and men both have solar and lunar energies rather than just feminine and masculine. It’s more complex than just masculine and feminine. When you begin to integrate this concept and balance each of them, you begin to fully embody both strength and compassion.
In this week’s episode I also share:
=>How Lunar and Solar energy relate to personal characteristics in regards to the moon and the sun
=>Why men are beginning to embrace their Lunar Feminine Energy
=>How the Solar Feminine relates to your Chakra energies
=>How balancing & healing your Lunar and Solar energy is crucial to avoid burnout
And more!
Ultimately, what I discovered from operating in a way that was trying to mimic solar masculine energy instead of embrace a mindset of having both Solar Feminine and Lunar Feminine is that I was working with a wounded energetic system, which ultimately led to burnout, irritability, fatigue, and a belief that I was not enough far too often.
So instead, turn that love-hate relationship with those action-taking qualities in your life into a LOVE relationship of your Solar Feminine Qualities!
